The Fiddlesheads release new album

The Fiddleheads, fan favorites on last summer's America's Got Talent, have launched their first studio album, appropriately titled, Goodbye LA. Plus rumor has it the Fiddleheads are working on their first music video, shooting scenes right here in Dahlonega.

Even better, the Fiddleheads are playing in Dahlonega for a fundraiser for the Holly Theatre @ the theatre, Thursday April 26.

The Fiddleheads are a bluegrass-inspired, genre-crossing musicians from Dahlonega, who got their start playing together at North Georgia College and State University.

From there, the band went on to play a number of venues in North Georgia and even in Nashville, too. Their big break came when they won a spot on America's Got Talent and then wowed audience with their unique musical style.

D&B is hoping that the Fiddleheads will continue to build their fan base and one day receive the same accolades as another Dahlonega popular musical group... the Grammy Award Winning Zac Brown band.

Fiddlehead Fest

America's Got Talent may not have loved the Fiddleheads, but Dahlonega sure does. The Fiddleheads are a local group of North Georgia College and State University grads and students who competed on America's Got Talent earlier this summer.

The local group wowed fans, but, unfortunately, not all the judges. But that was then....this is now. The fiddling fan favorite is making their first post-competition appearance in Dahlonega on Thursday, Sept. 29. The 'new grass' band will play at the university's Greenfest, at 6:30 p.m.on the school's drill-field.

The Greenfest organizers are hoping for a large crowd as the community and university welcome the Fiddleheads back home. If you can't make the Fiddleheads' Dahlonega show, plan on buying the group's first CD, which they are in the process of recording.

Fiddleheads Coming to a Town Near You

America's Got Talent's popular bluegrass band, The Fiddleheads from Dahlonega, could be coming to a town near you as they embark on their first major tour. The band, made up of North Georgia State College and University students and grads, will make their first post-AGT appearance September 4 at the Kentucky Bluegrass Music Festival.

Despite wowing AGY audiences and judges Sharon Osborne and Howie Mandel, the Fiddleheads failed to make the AGT finals. After their elimination, the band's fans (aka Fiddlenation) clamored for more Fiddlehead music. Hence the tour and a new cd/dvd coming out soon.

"So get ready," said the band's bassist Trygve Myers this week in the Dahlonega Nugget. "We want to repay the fans with what they voted for - our music."

If you love the Fiddleheads as much as Dahlonega and Beyond does, you can follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

Vote for the Fiddleheads

America's Got Talent, NBC's popular summer talent show, is giving the Fiddleheads, a homegrown Dahlonega bluegrass band, a second chance. And now you have the opportunity to vote for this 'funky' group as America's Top Talent on the show at 9 p.m. tonight.

The five-man band was brought back to the NBC show as a wild-card contender, after being voted off on July 13. The group's strong popularity with the audience and fans earned them this second shot.

"We're excited to show people what we do instead of last time where we went in a different direction," said bassist Trygve Myers, referring to their last performance when they went the L.A. way and performed a bluegrass Billie Jean. "This time you are actually going to get to see us....even if we do bad or good...we're going to be happy with what we do," Myers said in a Dahlonega Nugget interview.

The Fiddleheads, all graduates or students of North Georgia State College and University, are part of the rich bluegrass and country music tradition of Dahlonega and our first America's Top Talent contestant. Good luck Fiddleheads. Dahlonega is awfully proud of you.
