It's hot, really hot, in Dahlonega and beyond. After days of enduring tempertures in the 90's, D&B has found a few ways to 'cool' down.
1. Go to Wolfe Mountain Vineyards for lunch. Here you'll dine outside under ceiling fans on the Vineyard cafe's expansive covered patio. Nothing can be finer than sipping a cool glass of Chanteloup, enjoying the green, cool mountain views, and sampling the cheese cake dessert plate.
2. Stop in at Bleu in downtown Dahlonega. While you're enjoying the crisp air conditioning, check out the pottery art and watch Bleu's owner/artist Mike Miller work on his latest painting. Of course, if you're really suffering from the heat, ask the Wine Vixen for a wine tasting!
3. Eat a super sugary sweet piece of milk chocolate fudge at the Fudge Factory on Dahlonega's main street. (Of course, the juicy, chocolate covered strawberries aren't bad either. But our Factory favorite is their praline. Yum!)
4. Make a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich. It's even better when you use juicy tomatoes grown in your own backyard.
5. Sip tea in a rocking chair on your porch (after the sun goes down preferably).
6. Relish in the fact that you live in North Georgia and not New York City!
It's not that hot ... at least your not in the city.
ReplyDeleteYou poor folks. So hot!! Here in Kansas we have only had 25 straight days of 100+ temps in July and none of those exceeded 110... yet.
